Work Resumes at Ravalli County Airport

It's back to work on the expansion of the Ravalli County Airport. Lengthening the main runway at the airport east of Hamilton has been a project more than 25-years in the making. Favorable weather means crews have resumed work on the $15 million project. In a few weeks however, the facility will have to closed down to air traffic while the shift is made to the new runway alignment.

Ravalli County Commissioner Jeff Burrows said the work is so extensive, that airport will have to be completely shut down for a couple few months. If all goes well, the county is hoping to have the new runway in service toward the end of summer.
