TESTER ANNOUNCES HUGE INCREASE IN COVID19 VACCINE SHIPMENTS FOR VETERANS

At a hearing before the Veterans Affairs Committee, Chairman Jon Tester, the senior Senator from Montana, said his efforts to get more vaccine to veterans, especially in rural areas, is paying off. During testimony, the Acting under Secretary for Health, Dr. Richard Stone, said he learned Wednesday that the VA allocation would more than double next week. The VA has been receiving about 125,000 doses per week but next week that number will be 600,000. Stone also said that VA has the ability to administer that many doses quickly. Tester has been pressing the VA and the Biden administration to increase vaccine shipments.
Tonight (Thursday 2/25) the Montana VA Health Care System will hold a virtual town hall to talk about vaccine distribution and answer questions from veterans.
