Relief Effort For Denton Fire Victims
A late-season wildfire pushed by strong winds has ripped through the tiny central Montana farming town of Denton, burning two dozen homes and four grain elevators that had stood for more than a century. The fire destroyed 20 square miles of prairie and agriculture land.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt. While Fergus County officials assess the damage in Denton, Montana Broadcasters Association has announced that a website has been set up to raise funds for the families affected.
ALL proceeds will go to support firefighting efforts and local home, business and ranch recovery.
For people wanting to help the folks in Denton, cash donations are being accepted at: montanawinterfair.com/fire
Or you can send your donations to Stockman Bank in Lewistown, in care of the MT Winter Fair checking account, in the memo line write "Denton Fire".
Thank you to all that have donated in so many ways. You are appreciated!!
