License To Brew For MSU

Montana State University has been granted an academic brewer license by the Montana Board of Regents, allowing researchers at the Barley, Malt, and Brewing Quality Lab to brew small amounts of beer for research purposes.

The license enables the identification of beneficial traits in new barley lines and evaluates how different varieties perform from field to brewery.

The brewing quality research complements the lab's existing work in breeding, malting, and overall barley research, supporting Montana's significant barley production.
