Healthcare Facilities Not Getting Paid By The State

Montana health organizations are facing challenges due to a state government backlog in paying its contractors, hindering their ability to provide care.

Over 200 private and public contractors across the state government have been affected.

The backlog, attributed to factors like a higher contract load, staff turnover, and new legislative mandates, has led to some organizations going months without pay, laying off employees, and scaling back services, raising concerns about the long-term impact on healthcare in the state.
