Groundbreaking at UM

The University of Montana has begun construction on a new 600-bed dormitory, the first in 30 years, set to open in 2027.

The 171,000-square-foot residence hall will address the growing housing demand due to increased enrollment.

Located on the southwest end of campus, it will feature modern amenities like smart lounges and community spaces.

The $70 million project is part of a broader campus infrastructure update to balance parking impacts with new spaces added.
