Check Your Vents & Pipes

After being arrested on suspected arson charges, Sean Staples Confessed to stuffing socks up vents and exhaust pipes in at least 2 separate unidentified homes, posing a significant concern for public health and safety.

MPD is now urging residents in the Lewis and Clark neighborhood, specifically those in the vicinity of S. 3rd and Russell Streets, to thoroughly inspect any external vents or exhaust ports on their properties.

If you find anything suspicious, contact 9-1-1 immediately so that evidence can be collected.

Staples is facing six counts of Arson and two counts of Assault on a Peace Officer. He is presently in custody at the Missoula County Detention Facility.
