A Windfall for Bonner
The Bonner Elementary School District has received over $62,000 in a single day through the state's Innovative Education Program Tax Credit, surpassing the amount it would have earned in a failed operational levy proposed last year.
The program encourages individuals, estates, trusts, or businesses to invest directly in local schools, offering tax credits equal to their contributions.
Over $4.4 million was donated to local school districts in Western Montana and over $3.9 million to student scholarship organizations on the opening day of the portal.
