115k Montanans Lost Medicaid
A report from Montana's Department of Public Health and Human Services shows over 115,000 people lost Medicaid coverage after the state began re-evaluating eligibility post-pandemic.
Cover Montana, part of the Montana Primary Care Association, has been assisting those affected, receiving hundreds of calls weekly.
Of those re-evaluated, 41% lost coverage, including 36,000 children and 12,000 with tribal affiliation. More than 23,000 cases are still pending.
Many were unaware of the changes until attempting to refill prescriptions. Cover Montana continues to offer resources and support for re-enrollment and marketplace plan-options.
