By now you’ve heard that you’ll have to dial the area code to make local calls starting Oct 24th, but there more to the change than that. You also need to check all the devices you have that work now with only the seven-digit numbers, that list could include your fire alarm system, security system, life-saving systems, medical monitoring devices, mobile/wireless contact lists, call forward settings, and all other automated dialing systems. All of them will need to re-program their devices to include 10-digit dialing before October 24th.
