Missoula County will launch a DUI treatment court to reduce the number of repeat DUIs in the county.
The county received an $87,000 federal grant awarded through the Montana Department of Transportation.
In 2017, Montana experienced 1,995 crashes involving impaired drivers, which included 102 fatalities.
Missoula County consistently lands in the top three counties in the state for the number of crashes involving impaired drivers.
The grant provides funding for the court to screen and accept repeat DUI /high BAC DUI offenders to the program, serving up to 20 participants the first year.
