For many of us, this week-end means one of the most colorful spectacles of the season. A no-holds barred contest of wills played out for a wildly enthusiastic crowd. Some people will also be watching a football game, apparently.
Saturday night is the annual Missoula Art Museum Auction. Art and artists are center stage at MAM’s 47th Annual Benefit Art Auction, 5 pm on February 2, 2019 at the University Center. The annual fundraiser supports MAM’s work in bringing cutting-edge art experiences to the Missoula community. The live auction is a spectator sport that has to be experienced to be appreciated. The auction has been a bright spot in a long winter for nearly 50 years and the money raised will support hundreds artists in the region and around the country. It also allows the “MAM” to fund free educational program in every school in the region. Executive Director, Laura Millin, says the array of art in this year’s auction is dazzling, with something for every collector. Tickets are still available by calling the Museum.
